Kullanıcılar başvuruları tamamlandıktan sonra ULAKBULUT ekibinden access key ve secret key almaktadırlar. Bu keylerin mutlak suretle güvenli bir şekilde saklanması gerekmektedir zira obje deponuza erişmek için aradaki en büyük güvenlik katmanı bu keylerdir.
.s3cfg dosyası s3cmd komut seti için kullanılan bir konfigürasyon dosyasıdır, aşağıda örnek bir s3cfg dosyası içeriği yer almaktadır. Bu içeriği home dizininiz altındaki .s3cfg içerisine yazıp gerekli değişiklikleri yaparak kolayca s3 servisimize bağlanabilirsiniz. Örnek içerikte sansürlenmiş olarak yer alan access_key, host_base, secret_key kısımları sizlere iletilecektir.
Gerekli düzenlemeleri yaptıktan sonra “s3cmd –configure” komutu çalıştırılıp gelen tüm mesajlar Enter/y tuşlarıyla geçilip bağlantı sağlanacaktır. Çıktı şu şekilde olmalıdır;
